Quilters like this machine because of the drop feed functions, freehand quilting, and heirloom stitches built into the machine, not to mention the generously-sized work surface.
Versatile Machine Embroidery And Quilting
The Brother 9000 is versatile enough to meet your basic machine embroidery, crafting, and light to moderate quilting needs, but it’s no specialty machine.
The XR9000 is a solid, intermediate level machine that sews powerfully and quietly through most fabrics, but heavy quilting layers or leather can make this machine choke.
Hardcore quilters or crafters who sew upholstery fabric frequentl, will probably not like this machine as much as a higher-end computerized sewing machine.
As with many of the Brother sewing machines on the less-expensive side, you may have to experiment with setting the tension, especially with heavyweight fabrics.
The Brother XR 9000 Has Solid Value
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a sewing machine with the XR9000 Brother combination of features and value.
The combination of machine embroidery, decorative and heirloom stitches, and quilting features at an attractive price can modernize your sewing studio without breaking your bank.
