What Others Say About the Brother XR9500 PRW…
Some owners report that this machine performs well for a few years, but it is not intended for heavy duty sewing. As a result, it may give an error message, indicating a problem that requires professional repair–in just 2-3 years.
This machine is NOT the best choice for quilters (The quilting table is not large enough.), nor does it perform well when making buttonholes in several layers of fabric. In addition, the automatic needle threader can be a bit tricky when you are first learning to use it.
Beyond those limitations, the Brother XR9500PRW seems to perform adequately for most light duty sewers and crafters. The stitching is even, the frame is sturdy and those new to sewing will appreciate the simplicity of its set up and use. Another nice feature is that the machine remembers the needle position when you stop sewing—avoiding broken needles and lots of frustration.
