In spite of its classification in Singer’s commercial sewing machines line, this machine does not measure up to the classic Singer sewing machines that many people used for years. Users who upgraded from a classic Singer sewing machine to this heavy duty sewing machine were disappointed.
The extra-tough motor and the fast speed make the Singer CG590 blow through competition with standard-grade machines, and some of the features of this heavy duty sewing machine go above and beyond those expected from a commercial sewing machine.
But the plastic parts in this Singer sewing machine cost the machine its reputation and it really shouldn’t qualify for a true commercial-grade classification.
If you are a home sewer with lots of home décor or light upholstery projects, the Singer CG590 is a decent choice.
