Janome Serger Reviews

Interested in a Janome serger? Janome makes a number of sergers from basic Mylock to computerized compulock and coverstitch sergers.

Many of its sergers have easy thread guides and an advanced feed system.

One example of a serger by Janome is the Janome 9102d serger. It's a great little workhorse, although it can be a bit noisy at times.

The 9102d is a reliable machine, not requiring a lot of time in the repair shop.

It's easy to use, with one exception. The lower loop area is a bit tricky to access for threading in one section. But, for the most part, 9102D owners love their machines.

If you are looking for a professional quality serger, you might want to check out the Janome 1100d serger. The automatic tension on this Janome serger is a nice feature, and there is a unique Stitch Information Display Panel to help you select the exact stitch that you will use on your project.

Another nice feature is the Flip Needle System which allows you to position your needle where you want it, and thread the needle easily. You can also adjust the foot pressure by turning a dial and you can release the upper knife, if your project requires it. The 1100d comes with 10 preset stitches.

Janome 204d Serger

What about a compact serger? They are nice if you like to travel with your machine or you go to classes. The Janome MyLock 204d, retailing for around $599.95, has some features that more expensive machines lack.

The compact MyLock 204d is really quite sturdy and its Janome stitch mechanism ensures great ¾ thread operation. This model is completely portable, and it's a good choice if you have limited space for storage.

The has a built-in rolled hem feature, and to use it you don't have to change the feed plate. Of course the 204d has a differential feed which will prevent puckering and stretching of your fabric.

Threading is easy because of color coding, and the presser foot lifts extra-high to give you more operating room.

Almost always, you can count on high quality if you purchase a Janome sewing machine.

However, as usual, you should do your homework and make sure that you understand the good points and the weak points of any serger sewing machine that you purchase.
